The name Barons de Rothschild has been known for centuries as a producer of highly exclusive wines, including the Premier Grand Cru Classés wines of Château Mouton-Rothschild and Château Lafite-Rothschild, which has been renowned as the best vineyard in Bordeaux since the 18th century.

The Rothschild family crest dates back to the 18th century, and the 5 arrows in the family crest refer to the 5 sons of the influential banker Mayer Amschel Rothschild, born in 1744. He was at the beginning of the Rothschild dynasty. In the 18th century, all of them were given the noble title of Baron. The motto of the Rothschild dynasty has been for centuries: Concordia, Integritas, Industria, roughly translated as harmony, integrity, and industriousness. Chardonnay is the base grape, which was also one of the reasons for establishing in the Côte des Blancs, the region where this grape thrives best. For production, a collaboration was formed with a small, high-quality producer 'Goutte d'Or' in Vertus.
