R. de Ruinart
Nicolas Ruinart was a cloth merchant who sent a bottle of sparkling wine to his best customers, produced by his uncle Dom Thierry Ruinart (a Benedictine monk from the time of Dom Pérignon). This uncle introduced him to the champagne production process, and in 1729, Ruinart dedicated himself to 'champagne wine.' Ruinart is considered the oldest champagne house.
