Krug Rosé

Krug Rosé was developed in 1983 by the fifth generation of Krug. Initially, Krug had no plans to create a rosé champagne. However, brothers Henri and Rémi Krug eventually crafted an authentic Krug with around fifty percent Pinot Noir and portions of Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. When his father, Paul Krug II, tasted the rosé in a blind tasting, he exclaimed, 'We have a problem, someone in Champagne is copying Krug!' This single sip dispelled all his doubts. It was an exceptionally silky, full-bodied champagne with notes of wild berries, exotic spices, and flowers. The Rosé went into production, and Krug finally had its Rosé. Krug Rosé is the only prestige cuvée rosé made from three different grape varieties from a wide selection of harvest years. The Pinot Noir contributes unmatched tones and spiciness through its expressive skin fermentation. The 24th edition of Krug Rosé has an assemblage of 28% Chardonnay, 32% Pinot Meunier, and 40% Pinot Noir.
